When using IRC, one needs to be a mature person. It is different to a usual messaging environment such as AIM, MSN, Skype. For this reason, the Lemmings Heaven IRC Channel has certain Rules and Guidelines which need to be followed:

Rules Terminology:

kick: Removed from channel.
channel: The chat room.
NICKSERV: A service on the server which allows you to register and login using your nickname.
CHANSERV: A service on the server which allows users to make their own channels.
Chan-Ops: People who help moderate the channel.
kick-ban: Where you are banned and kicked at the same time.
mode: When you identify using NICKSERV a '+' symbol will appear infront of your name. These are the different types of Modes:

+ : Regular User (+v)
%: Half Op's (+h)
&: Standard Op's (+a)
@: Mega Op's (+o)
~: Administrator / Founder (+oq)

1. No Spamming, No Flaming : People on IRC do not tolerate this, the same goes for us, We will kick you off the channel. Repetitive spamming/flamming will result in IP Banned.

2. Limit Swearing: The ModBot, which Ocktra has developed, aims to minimalise the ammount of profanity in the channel. The bot will kick you if you are found to be swearing repeatedly. We may IP Ban you, but we are lenient on this rule. You may just be kicked all the time.

3. Maximum of 2 users per PC on the channel. Maximum of 1 user per PC on Trivia Fridays.

4. Please remember to NICKSERV your name, this ensures that it is the 'real' xyz user. Also Chan-Ops, it is more important so that CHANSERV can set your mode to +h.

5. Please do not copy and paste lots of text into IRC, it can be very distracting and annoying. First time, we will not do anything, Second Time and onwards: kicked.

6. To get everyones attention and you know they may be AFK or busy, just say hi and be patient for someone to respond. There is no such 'nudge' feature like MSN on IRC, so a little patience is required.

7. Lemmingsheaven.info, loftyD, Ocktra, Pieuw and Ch`mera are not in anyway responsible for anything that happens to you. This means like if you do not like someone anymore or have an argument, it is the responsibility of you to do something about it. Anything like this that happens on the channel will not be tolerated. We will kick-ban you and others involved. Please do not bring your arguments into the channel; We are a friendly chatting IRC and this sort of behaviour from anyone is not on.

Thanks
